Our Outdoor Event Venue on Lake Merritt

LAKEVIEW TERRACE

The Lakeview Terrace is the Henry J.’s outdoor event space. This 20-foot deep deck runs along the entire 400 foot length of the north side of the building. The Lakeview Terrace provides visitors with spectacular views of the 7 intricately carved niches on the building’s face while also overlooking the south shore of Lake Merritt.

LAKEVIEW PLAZA - COMING SOON:

The exterior space between The Calvin Simmons Theatre and the Oakland Museum of California will be converted from its current use as a driveway into a publicly accessible promenade for an outdoor event venue on Lake Merritt. The new pedestrian plaza will comprise of a mix of greenery and decorated pavement. These improvements are being made in partnership with OMCA and their substantial upgrades along the shared property line. As both a gathering place for event-goers and a pedestrian connection between local landmarks, The Lakeview Plaza will build on the synergy of the surrounding landmark locations and strengthen the connection between Lake Merritt, OMCA, Laney College, and BART.
